ACTION TAKEN
DE staff met with DESE staff, Mid-State 8 Electric Cooperatives, and National Energy Education Development (NEED) project in 2016 to discuss energy education in present curriculum, and how we might work together more in that regard. DE can provide supplemental energy materials for teachers to pick/choose and recruit partners to work with DESE. DE staff met in August 2016 with a member of the State Board of Education to briefly discuss CSEP recommendations related to education, and raise awareness of energy issues being incorporated into curriculum to better prepare students for future workforce in both blue- and white-collar jobs with utilities and innovative energy solutions industries. Liberty Utilities sponsored several Energy Education Workshops for teachers hosted by the EarthWays Center.
