Updates
January 2019: Representative Bill Kidd is sponsoring the house version of the State Energy Plan bill (HB 357). While Senator Ed Emery is sponsoring the Senate version (SB 131). SB 131 had a very positive hearing on 1/30.
Summer-Winter 2018: MEI and its SEP committee is working on publishing a scorecard of the 80+ recommendations to track which have been attempted or completed.
January-March 2018: Representative Jack Bondon sponsored the House version in HB 1998 and Senator Ed Emery sponsored the Senate version in SB 727. Both bills passed their respective chambers, but failed to get passed in the last few weeks of session.
January - April 2017: HB 661, the Missouri House version of the State Energy Plan bill is heard passed in the Missouri House and heard in Senate Committee, with no opposition.
February 2017: MEI selects the further development of a Missouri State Energy Plan as its first priority of 2017.
December 2016: Representative Bondon and Senator Emery introduces Missouri State Energy Plan bill that will codify the planning process to include an bienniel update to the data portion of the DED document and a stakeholder review and policy proposal process.

July, August and September 2015: Missouri General Assembly holds special hearings to provide input on state energy plan.
April 2015 - October 2015: Division of Energy and Governor's Office extends deadline for further stakeholder engagement.
November 2014 - April 2015: Working Group development of targeted plan components
October 2014: Public Meeting held throughout Missouri
July 30, 2014: State Energy Plan bidding proposals due to the State Energy Office.
July 2014: Missouri Division of Energy publishes State Energy Plan website.
June 2014: Governor Nixon signs Executive Order 14-06 to develop a Missouri Comprehensive State Energy Plan.
April 2014: Governor Nixon announces the team that will make the state energy strategy happen with the appointment of Lewis Mills as Director of the Division of Energy and Kristy Manning as Deputy Director of Policy for the Division of Energy. Governor Nixon also announces that he will be duplicating the 2010 economic strategic initiative process for the development of the Missouri State Energy Strategy.
